St Swithun’s School, Winchester St Swithun’s School, Winchester

This girls’ school, standing in 45 acres of open countryside, was founded in 1883 as Winchester High School due to the efforts of the daughter of the Dean of Winchester.

It was renamed St Swithun’s shortly after The Great War.

My portrait of St Swithun’s is, thus far, the fastest selling of all that I have painted.

The girls - including Lady Sieff of Marks and Spencer fame - clearly enjoyed their time at St Swithun’s and are keen to have a memento of their school.
