Hurstpierpoint College Before going to university, my son attended this grey flint college overlooking the Sussex Weald.
The college has a large quadrangle and has many traditions such as the parading of a boar’s head on a salver along its cloisters at the end of Michaelmas term.
I love its dining hall with its huge portraits of previous heads and the large flags fluttering from its timbered ceiling.
The Junior School was large enough to require its own portrait so I obliged.
I have also produced a smaller painting of the school chapel with a cricket match in progress.
See the Junior School portrait, or the chapel/cricket portrait here.
